I’ve been working hard on getting some Christmas liners, and such done for The Vibe. If you want you can let me know what you think about them in the comment section below. I’m up for criticism as well so feel free to leave that also. Hope all of you are having a great week. I’m excited because I get to see Philmont this weekend at my school.

On my way coming back from church with some friends we saw a cat crossing the road. It didn’t make it across the road, but instead started just walking down the road. We were in the same lane as the cat and it just started walking more and more slowly. We were going really slow following the cat and then we realized it seemed hurt. We were not sure what to do, but then realized that we needed to pull over to the side of the road to see if it was ok. So that’s what we did. I wasn’t in the car with a bunch of guys, guys wouldn’t do something like that. I was in a car with some girls who are friends of mine.
We ended up getting the cat and taking it to the Greenville Humane Society, which just happened to be a few minutes down the road. I was thinking about what I would do if it was just me driving down the road when I saw the cat. I probably would’ve just drove right by without stopping. That reminds me of a biblical passage..the story of the good Samaritan. Sure we might have other things we need to get done, but we need to take the time, and make the time to help people when they need it. The cat might have had a disease, and people you meet might not be the most present smelling or whatever, but Jesus wants us to love people as He has loved us.
It’s crazy and funny how God tries to teach you things. This year in Fusion (Baptist Student Union Worship/Bible Study time on Thursday nights) we have been talking about rescue, How God rescues us from sin, death, and that sorta thing. It’s been good and never would’ve thought that I would have learned so much about rescue. God must be showing himself to me in a practical way through this rescuing this morning with this cat.
I’m about to go with the friends to see if we can find the owner of the cat. We are going to knock on some doors and see if anyone knows whose cat it is.
God help me to recognize those in my world that need rescuing. Help me to have your heart towards those who are far from you. I need rescue too so God help me to be rescued as well.

Not The Actual Cat…just a random cat.

Today is the first Tarheel Basketball regular season game for 2008-2009. I’m really impressed so far with their offensive performance in this game. Mr. Basketball (Tyler Zeller) is a beast and he’s just as awesome as Tyler Hansbrough who couldn’t play today. The halftime score is UNC 48 - Pen. 33. I’m excited for this year and what the Tarheels are going to do. It should be a great season, and I really hope they do well this year. More about the game will come later. I’ll try to give a you all a post-game blog if I remember.
